Recognition from our industry peers is something we always welcome at Labelz and we had a double celebration on that front in 2022.
The Digital Labels & Packaging Awards are a dedicated awards programme, celebrating excellence in digital print for packaging.
From labels and shrink sleeves, to pouches, folding cartons and corrugated boxes, these awards showcase what it takes to succeed with digital, and honours the best work from printers and converters using digital technology to produce labels and packaging.
Entries came from all around the world, and a bit like Boris Becker on his Wimbledon debut in 1985 we won the ‘Excellence with Inkjet’ award at the first attempt! A great achievement and a testament to our team and technology.
The awards ceremony was held at the Oval cricket ground in London and Labelz was represented by Lewis Abbott from our sales team and production manager Jamie Galt.
Also in 2022 we were successful at The Digital Printer Awards, being shortlisted for the final four and competing with entries from around the world.
Established for over 15 years, the Digital Printer Awards is the industry’s recognised showcase and premier accolade for digital print, finishing and related technologies in commercial applications.
With a broad range of categories to enter, the awards cover applications from transactional, direct mail and omni-channel communications campaigns to books, textiles and embellishment.
Software, workflow and business initiatives and achievements are also recognised and celebrated, along with the more traditional print and finishing quality attributes.
In addition to the prestige of being nominated for and winning a Digital Printer award, the gala lunch event at the Intercontinental Hotel in Park Lane was an excellent opportunity to mingle with our peers, network and make new connections.
We won the award for ‘Finishing & Embellishment’ and on hand to pick up the award were managing director Darren Abbott and production administrator Matt Hadgraft.
Further testament to the quality work that customers receive from Labelz is the fact that we are now BRC Approved and ISO9001 & UL Authorised. This means bigger companies like Tesco and Waitrose know that we have all the equipment and procedures in place to do any kind of job for them.
In fact, we are the only company in Europe that runs the Domino N 610i inkjet label press in conjunction with the ABG Digicon Series 3, solely for labels.
Labelz managing director Darren Abbott says: “Our winning track record is based on a combination of cutting-edge technology and an experienced, skilful team and this is reflected in the awards we have won.”
